The Director-General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned that restoring health in the Gaza sector after the destructive war that began more than 15 months ago will be "a complex and difficult task." Ghebreyesus noted that the organization urges all parties to fully comply with their obligations under the agreement on ending fire and to continue working towards achieving a permanent peace.
Recently, the World Health Organization estimated that more than 10 billion dollars are needed to restore the health system in the Gaza sector. Tedros Ghebreyesus pointed out on the X platform that the restoration of the health system in Gaza represents complex and difficult tasks due to the scale of the destruction, operational complexities, and existing limitations.
