UNICEF Faces Cuts in Support Impacting Children

The organization UNICEF announced its intention to ramp up its response to the consequences of the reduction of most humanitarian aid from the USA, which affected millions of children, especially in Haiti, following President Donald Trump's directive after his return to power.

The existing increased fund of the international program and public organizations has been significantly reduced by the Trump administration, particularly through the cancellation of 92% of funding for development and foreign assistance programs provided by the US Agency for International Development, with a total of around 60 billion dollars.

"We received notifications about the termination of support provided by UNICEF related to humanitarian and developing programs," said James Elder, a representative of UNICEF, at a press conference in Geneva.
