Swiss Central Bank Chief Criticizes Bitcoin's Volatility

The director of the Swiss National Bank stated that the cryptocurrency bitcoin rate is extremely unstable and it does not have sufficient financial liquidity to be used as a reserve currency.

He noted that bitcoin and other similar digital assets do not have built-in price stability, which makes them risky for investments and transactions. According to him, cryptocurrencies can be used more as speculative objects than as a medium of exchange.

"We see the need to strengthen the regulation of cryptocurrency markets to ensure the protection of investors and the stability of the financial system," - emphasized the head of the Swiss central bank.

He called for greater attention to the assessment of risks associated with cryptocurrencies and the need to develop clear standards for their regulation.
