International judicial authorities in Switzerland have stated that they are considering several complaints filed against the President of Israel Isaac Herzog, who is on a state visit.
According to the prosecution, the complaints relate to his involvement in the bombing of Gaza conducted in 2014, as well as violations of human rights in Palestine. According to Swiss legislation, the president does not have immunity, and visas for heads of state are not recognized as official. This means that legal actions could potentially be taken against Herzog.
"We are confident that it is necessary to take these complaints into account and consider their placement in conjunction with our international obligations," noted representatives of the Swiss authorities.
