The commander of the Swiss army, Thomas Züssli, stated in an interview published on Sunday that Switzerland may provide military forces for a future mission to support peace in Ukraine if it is requested and if the government agrees.

"Switzerland is always ready to support its partners in efforts to maintain peace," Züssli said, adding that a final decision on the provision of military forces rests with the Federal Council.

These statements reflect Switzerland's readiness to actively participate in resolving crisis situations around the world in accordance with its foreign policy.
