The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) announced its intention to hold organized activities in 2025 for purchasing eligible emission units for airline companies, as part of the compensation plan for carbon emissions and their reduction in international aviation, known as the Corsia scheme. The goal of this plan is to continue the success achieved by the first activity organized by the organization.
In the first activity, 32 airline companies participated, and 11 companies purchased eligible emission units from the Government of Ghana. This operation was part of the first phase of the scheme, which is the first large-scale purchasing activity conducted by airline companies as part of the Ghanaian program to reduce emitted emissions.
